Academic Challenge

The Perkins Middle School Academic Challenge teams are comprised of sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students who are gifted in reading, language arts, and/or math. Students try out for the teams by taking a series of general knowledge tests.  The six students from each grade level who score the highest on the general knowledge tests become the team members.  Team members are expected to participate in all team practices, read the literature books assigned for the tournaments, study geography, fine arts, math, and science topics, be aware of current event topics, and pay an activity fee to participate on the team.
